For A Cause:
why we ask you to join us on this walk
The Craft Market Walk is built on the foundation of supporting local and shopping small. Small businesses provide jobs in our neighborhood and putting money back into the local economy not only does good for the community, it directly benefits our neighbors versus massive corporations. Small businesses also happen to be a large draw for tourism, so that niche little boutique on the corner of Main Street has a much larger impact than most locals realize.
We proudly give back to...
Gardiner Library is a source for the community that offers materials and services to meet the educational, cultural, and social needs of our growing community. The library facilitates personal and professional enrichment, internet access, and provides a center for community activities. In particular, the Gardiner Library recognizes its responsibility to encourage the love of reading in Gardiner's children, and by so doing, help foster their development into literate, informed citizens.
GARDiNER fire department
The Gardiner Volunteer Fire Department supports the protection of life and
property within the limits of the Gardiner Fire District, located in the Town of Gardiner New York. Both firehouses in the district are owned and operated by the Gardiner Fire Department Inc., a not-for-profit volunteer fire company incorporated in 1952. The Fire
Department maintains these properties with funds raised primarily through various fund raising activities and also by contributions received from the residents of the
township and the fire district.
ST. JUDE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
Unlike other hospitals, the majority of funding for St. Jude comes from generous donors. It costs $2.4 million per day to operate St. Jude, and public contributions provide more than 75 percent of the funds necessary to operate the hospital.
Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food. As a children's research hospital, St. Jude must be able to provide lifesaving care to patients regardless of economic fluctuations, and this necessitates we maintain a reserve fund. At the core of our mission is our ability to research and treat life-threatening childhood diseases for the patients who come through our doors today as well as the children who will need us in the future.
